Executive summary

Executive summary

A room to disappear into music.

Luxurious marble lobby of Regal Hotel.

( 01 )

The Simon-Dach Sound Room is a private retreat for music: part DJ room, part listening room, part decompression space. The goal is to create a room that feels calm, warm, and immersive. A space where the day drops away and the music becomes the center of gravity.

( 02 )

We are proposing a complete room concept: layout, speaker placement, acoustic treatment, DJ/listening flow, sideboard integration, lighting, and atmosphere. The result should feel effortless: technically considered, emotionally relaxed, and made for both active playing and passive listening.

Challenge / Opportunity

Challenge / Opportunity

A place to relax, recharge and play.

( Challenge 01 )

One room, two modes.

The space needs to work when someone is standing behind the decks playing a DJ set, and when someone is lying back on the sofa listening to an LP. Those are different body positions, energy levels, and listening behaviors — the room needs to support both without feeling compromised.

( Challenge 02 )

Comfort and sound have to work together.

Most music rooms lean too far in one direction: either too technical and studio-like, or too decorative and acoustically weak. This room needs to feel like a place to relax while still delivering real impact, clarity, and immersion.

( Challenge 03 )

The equipment should not dominate the room.

Turntables, mixer, speakers, records, cables, and acoustic treatment all need to be integrated cleanly. The room should feel intentional and calm, not like a pile of gear was placed into a living room.

The Opportunity

A private Berlin sound retreat for playing, listening, and recharging.

This project can become a room with a very clear identity: a personal escape where music is not background noise, but the main event. A room for after-work decompression, late-night records, focused DJ sessions, and small moments of getting completely lost in sound.

Proposed solution

Proposed solution

A listening room with the energy of a DJ booth and the comfort of a retreat.

Mobile-first hotel website design layout.

( 01 )

We will design the room around two primary experiences: standing at the decks and relaxing on the sofa. The layout, speaker position, sideboard, lighting, and acoustic treatment will be developed so the room can shift naturally between these modes.

( 02 )

The design direction is warm, minimal, and immersive. The room should feel like a soft landing after work — but with enough sonic weight and presence that playing a DJ set feels physical, focused, and alive.
